This stunning architectural gem from the pre-war era, built in 1930, has earned a place on Zakopane’s Municipal Heritage Register.
Its name, „Pan Tadeusz,” is not inspired by Mickiewicz but rather by its first owner, Tadeusz. It quickly became a favored spot among high-ranking officials, both Polish and international. Yet, „Pan Tadeusz” also witnessed darker times during the occupation and World War II. On February 20, 1940, the Gestapo-NKVD held their third conference at Villa Pan Tadeusz and nearby Telimena, a meeting that would have lasting implications for Poland’s future.
After the war, the villa was renamed as a guesthouse.
