This beautiful pre-war villa was officially designated solely for Wehrmacht soldiers during the occupation. At that time, it was leased by Maria Drzewiecka and her daughter Stanisława, though it was owned by Ewa Gryczowa-Zubrzycka, née Michajda.

While German soldiers rested in the rooms, Polish resistance fighters from Podhale often hid in the villa’s attic or basement.
In 1940, Telimena sheltered Stanisław Marusarz, one of the most notable Tatra Couriers, during his escape to Hungary. After the war, it was renamed as a guesthouse.
Stanisław Marusarz served as a courier from 1939, helping underground Polish soldiers cross Slovakia to Hungary. A famous athlete and world championship silver medalist from Lahti in 1938, he knew the Tatras intimately, though his recognizable face ultimately led to his capture near Štrbské Pleso in March 1940.
